I have a quewstion. Can a bag of grass seed remail live through a hot summer? Through the draught we have had in the south we waited until this fall to overseed. So far the seeds have not sprouted and it has been three weeks.

I just found your highly informative web site. I renovated my small lawn, about 1500 sq ft, 2 years ago with Scott's seed. I live in east central New Jersey, zip code 08759. The lawn was not what I expected to get after all the work I put into it. I just put a 3 lb bag of Scott's Pure Premium Sun & Shade down on 9/24, 10 days ago because of all the dead spots that I had. I still have the empty bag and I didn't find any of the varieties in it on your web site. They are: Abbey Kentucky bluegrass, 29.42%, Fenway Creeping Red Fescue, 24.76%, Ascend Perennial Rye, 24.59%, and Silver Dollar Perennial Ryegrass. After reading the information on your site I feel like buying some Roundup and starting over again. I can't do it now because of a trip that has been planned for months. How do you think your SS1000 blend would work in the spring and when should I start to work on it? I am retired so I have plenty of time. Also, what fertilizer do you recommend and how much and how often? I was blaming the lawn cutting service that the management people here employ for the poor performance of my lawn so I bought a new reel mower which does a nice job of cutting the grass. I also made my own above ground sprinkler system out of regular sprinkler components and some garden hose. It is all manual but it works fine and saved me a lot of money compared to an inground system. Thanks for your time, Bob.
